What thisis.
PlayPadel.ie exists because padel in Ireland has a problem: everyone thinks they're a 7. Nobody knows where to learn, who to play with, or what level they actually are. The booking platforms (Playtomic, MATCHi) handle courts — but the questions around the game go unanswered.
We built the Irish Padel Level Test to give players an honest, shareable answer to “what level am I?”. Then we added 17 plain-English guides, 71 researched venues, and a community directory covering the whole island — because knowing your level is useless if you can't find a court or a group to play with.
Padel is the fastest-growing sport in Ireland. The infrastructure is exploding — but the information layer hasn't caught up. That's the gap we fill.
What we stand for
Free for players
The level test, guides, venue directory, and community hub will always be free. Premium features may come later, but the core never goes behind a paywall.
Honest, not hype
No fake stats, no paid rankings, no brand endorsements. If a racket is overpriced, we'll say it. If a venue is bad, we won't list it.
Curated, not crowdsourced
Every venue, community group, and guide is reviewed before it goes live. Suggestions are welcome — but nothing publishes without approval.
Irish first
Built for the island — Republic and Northern Ireland. Irish context in every guide, from GAA migration paths to outdoor wind notes.
What we're not
- ✗A booking platform — Playtomic and MATCHi do that better than we ever could
- ✗A league or tournament organiser (yet) — though we link to the Irish Padel Tour
- ✗A generic sports blog — every guide is padel-specific and Ireland-relevant
- ✗Affiliate spam — we don't earn commission on anything we recommend
Where our data comes from
- Venues: PFI club finder, Playtomic, PadelCourts.ie, and individual club websites. 71 operational venues verified as of June 2026.
- Community: Club websites, WhatsApp invite pages, Facebook groups, and founder submissions. 54 entries across 27 counties.
- Guides: FIP Rules of Padel, LTA coaching resources, Premier Padel broadcasts, and coaching sites (Padel Underground, Padeli, Padel School).
- Stats: 60K+ players is an industry estimate (Padel 100 / media reports). 250+ courts verified via PadelCourts.ie.
